This module provides an introduction to the key considerations underlying the strategy and planning. Furthermore, the development in traditional marketing are presented and it is showed how digital tools and technologies can be incorporated.
Traditional Communications
The module shows how the traditional communication can be used to create messages about products or services. It also shows you how brands can be promoted and how to create awareness about your products and services.
Digital Communications
You will in this module build a solid understanding of digital communication as a discipline. You will find that it is a very personal discipline and that you need to tailor the approach to your customers and prospects.
Digital Channels
In this module, you will learn about search engine optimization (SEO) and pay-per-click advertising (PPC). In addition, other important digital channels like email marketing and "Digital Display" advertising are covered.
Digital Display Advertising
Here you will learn about the different advertising channels. How you can allocate your digital ad budget, for example, to include video and in-app ads. Furthermore, the different ad formats to optimize a mobile advertising campaign are reviewed.
Social Customer Service
You will learn how to integrate social networks into your digital marketing strategy and campaign execution. Likewise, the module shows how to maintain customer engagement with an online presence.
You will be presented with some digital marketing techniques that are easy to implement without the big budget - for example, the use of social media. You will also be taught the use of paid channels and you will see how you can implement them in your strategy.
This module looks at the new roles and responsibilities that arise with digital marketing and the challenges this creates in the marketing function. You will learn about different procedure necessary to operate safely within digital marketing.
Risk and reputation
This module covers the major risks such as identity theft, "Social Engineering", fraud, stalking, harassment, slander and safety risks - for example, malware and hacking.
The module shows you how analytics can be used to monitor your online traffic, customer engagement and satisfaction. The module will also show you the benefits of implementing a dedicated Analytics platform.
Strategy Formulation
In this module, learning from previous modules are being combined into a whole. This will enable you to put together a coherent and well-considered plan together for your business.

Upon completion of the Specialist Diploma in Strategy & Planning, you can conduct a three-hour exam. This is performed as a computer-based test in one of Pearson VUE's global network of test centers. The exam consists of a series of interactive questions, including Multiple Choice, True/False and Hotspots.

The fee for the exam is included in the price. In case you do not pass the exam and have to take it again, there will be a fee of around € 60, to be paid directly to Pearson, when you book your re-examination.
